This historic,Mission Revival building from 1912,is not just a beautiful and functional building,it is also an integral working part of the San Francisco Fire Department. Pumping Station 2,sitting on the very edge of San Francisco Bay is able to use that water from the bay as an emergency back up in case the cities water supply was ever to go out again,as it did immediately after the 1906 Earthquake and during the Fire immediately after. As seen 13 March 2018.
