Pictured is a buff sandstone late 11th-12th century Uma Maheshvara on display in the Dallas Museum of Art. This scene shows the god Shiva and his wife the goddess Parvati with their family and attendants. Parvati is called Uma, the shining one, and Shiva is called Maheshvara, the great god. They had two children, Skanda and the elephant-headed Ganesha.
