Not Much Is Known About The Early History Of The Chateau. Originally It Could Have Been A Gothic Tower-Like Building Probably From The 15Th Century. Some Remains Have Been Preserved In The So-Called Gothic Hall On The Ground Floor Of The Chateau, Which Shows That It Was Part Of The City Fortifications. New Parts Were Added In 1550€“1551, When Pelhå „¢Imov Was Owned By Adam Å Ëœã Âã„ÂAnskã½ Of Å Ëœã Âã„ÂAny. After A Great Fire In 1561, This Part Of The Castle Was Incorporated Into An Extensive Renaissance Building With Two Floors.
After The Fire In 1682, Significant Adjustments Were Made In The Baroque Style. The Changes Also Affected The Salt Gate And A New Staircase And Prison Were Added. The Chateau Was Also Destroyed By A Great Fire From 1766. After Reconstruction, Which Was Started Next Year, The Chateau Acquired The Appearance, Which Has Survived To Its Original Form To This Day With The Exception Of Minor Decorative Modifications. From 1849 To 1907 It Was The Seat Of The District Court, Since 1908 It Houses The Exhibitions Of The District Museum.
