The entire plant is covered with stiff stinging hairs, containing a caustic irritant which produces a painful irritation and rash. Plants often form spread out colonies. The flower is about one inch across, white, fragrant, somewhat tubular, and has 5 petals. Prefers dry, sandy soil and grows throughout Texas except in the Panhandle. Blooms March - September
