The Monument Was Dedicated 1872. It Is Located In The Award-Winning Campus Martius Park, A 2.5 Acre Public Square And Year-Round Entertainment Venue. Located In Downtown Detroit On Woodward Avenue. The Original Monument Did Not Include The Bronze Statues At The Next Level: Four Seated Female Figures. They Were Added In 1881 And Represent Emancipation, History, Victory And Union.
