The Relics Of The Body Which Were Originally Buried In The Catacombs Of Rome, Were Donated By The Ugolini Family, A Noble Florentine Family, And Also Important Landowners In The Chianti Hill Area. After Preparing The Holy Remains In A Beautiful And Decorative Case, They Were Placed To Rest In This Church In 1661. Saint Faust Became In Time The Protector Of This Noble And Historic Land Of Castellina And His Name Has Been Invoked To Ward Off Epidemics, Droughts, Accidents And Earthquakes. The People Of The Town Have Always Felt Protected And Consoled By These Holy Relics In Their Midst. Saint Fausto Of Albitina Was A Christian In Albitina, North Africa. He Was Arrested During Mass And Transported To Carthage, Rome, Where He Later Died In Prison In 304 Ad, A Martyr.
