Fort Manoel Was Built By The Knights Of Malta Between 1723 And 1755, Under The Patronage Of Grand Master Manoel De Vilhena. It Was An Active Military Establishment Under The Knights And Later Under British Military Control Until It Was Decommissioned In1906.
