Originally the Columbia Theater when first opened on Geary Street in San Francisco in 1910, it has gone through many name changes over the decades while being a nationally recognized theater where many of theaters greats have preformed. The theater became the home of the American Conservatory Theater in 1967, continuing the legacy. When the October 1989 Loma Prieta Earthquake hit, the theater sustained major damage. After the theater received their single largest donation ever, for rebuilding and remodeling, it was also announced, on 20 September 2022, the theaters name has been changed yet again. Now it is the Toni Rembe Theater, named in honor of long time philanthropist Toni Rembe, who has done so much for many theaters around the Bay Area. As seen 5 October 2022.
