Kookynie Grand Hotel. The Grand Hotel Was Built Around 1900 Directly Opposite The Railway Station. Gold Was Discovered In The 1890`S And The Town Gazetted In 1900. The Town Had A Population Of 2320 With 400 Buildings, With Swimming Pool And Seven Hotels. Today The Hotel Is The Last Surviving Business Dependent On Visitors And Tourists.
