Macrophage Binding With T Cell. T Cells Or T Lymphocytes Are A Type Of Lymphocyte (A Subtype Of White Blood Cell) That Play A Central Role In Cell-Mediated Immunity. They Can Be Distinguished From Other Lymphocytes, Such As B Cells And Natural Killer Cells, By The Presence Of A T-Cell Receptor On The Cell Surface. They Are Called T Cells Because They Mature In The Thymus From Thymocytes (Although Some Also Mature In The Tonsils). Macrophages Are A Type Of White Blood Cell That Engulfs And Digests Cellular Debris, Foreign Substances, Microbes, Cancer Cells, And Anything Else That Does Not Have The Types Of Proteins Specific Of Healthy Body Cells On Its Surface In A Process Called Phagocytosis. These Large Phagocytes Are Found In Essentially All Tissues, Where They Patrol For Potential Pathogens By Amoeboid Movement.
