Family: Salicaceae Genus: Salix Leaf: Sharply toothed Bark: Furrowed and grayish or yellowish-brown Seed: Small and averages 2-3 millimeters in length Blossoms: Flowers are called catkins and are 1-3 inches long Fruit: Small brown capsules on catkins that contain tiny seeds Native Habitat: The weeping willow originates in China and traveled the silk road to Europe and North America
