Monsanto, The Most Portuguese Village. Monsanto Is A Village In The Municipality Of Idanha-A-Nova. The Historic Village Is Built Of Granite And Situated Between Huge Boulders. Monsanto Is Located On A Slope Of The Steep Mountain Monsanto (Mons Sanctus). It Lies Northeast Of Idanha-A-Nova And Rice Abruptly From The Valley. The Top Of This Mountain Has An Elevation Of 758 Meters And On It Are The Remains Of An Old Castle.
