Mozambique Victory Day, Metarica, Niassa, Sept 07. Mozambique Celebrates Its Victory Day Or Dia Da Vitoria Every Year On September 07. It Is A Celebratory Day To Commemorate The Signing Of The Agreement To End The Mozambique War Of Independence, In Which The Nationalist Liberation Movement Frelimo Waged A Guerrilla War Against The Colonial Portuguese Government. The Agreement Was Signed In 1974. I Was In The Small Rural Hamlet Of Metarica (Niassa Province) In Sept 2010 And Was Witness To The Parades And Celebrations. It Is A Poverty Ridden Area, However Both Adults And Children March Through The Streets In Their Best Clothing. Luckily I Manages To Shoot Some Photos.
