This very uniquely designed building is unique more for its own architectural history than anything else. It started out as a one floor, probably cottage, in the mid 1860`s. When the second floor was added, in the 1880`s, it was placed under the original ground floor, and made into an Italianate style. It was about this time when the corner bay windows in the Stick Style, were also added, under the original windows. In 1893 the Queen Anne style top floor was added with the garlands and Palladian window along the top. It has been suggested that Mary Ellen Pleasant had paid for this addition. After the death of the last family member, in 1928, it was subsequently sold to the Nichiren Buddhist Church of America. As seen 14 December 2022.
