Opened in 1967, MacRitchie Reservoir Park`s zig-zag bridge & bandstand were popular gathering spots for the Singapore public. MacRitchie Reservoir Park is located at the southern-eastern end of the Central Catchment Nature Reserve, the largest of the nature reserves in Singapore, which occupies over 2,000 hectares of forest cover. The distinctive zig-zag bridge & bandstand were given conservation status by the Urban Redevelopment Authority in December 2009.
