This Wasn't Actually Taken During A Summer Solstice, But It Was A Couple Days Off, And The Epic Light And Winter Snow Melt Made It Well Worth The 90 Minute Drive To The Southern End Of Lake Tahoe.

Sunrise at Eagle Falls and Emerald Bay, Lake Tahoe, California. I read in one of Galen Rowell's books that around the summer solstice the sun rises near the opening of Emerald Bay. This wasn't actually taken during a summer solstice, but it was a couple days off, and the epic light and winter snow melt made it well worth the 90 minute drive to the southern end of Lake Tahoe.
