Toms Creek Falls Is A Waterfall In The Pisgah National Forest In Mcdowell County, North Carolina, Near The Town Of Marion.
The 60-80 Foot Falls Begins As The Creek Flows Over Several Cascading Upper Sections Of Bedrock Into A Near-Vertical Lower Cascade, Ending In A Small Scoop In The Rocks. A Wide, Flat Pool Area Is At The Base, Located In A Gully That Has Large Amounts Of Mica Embedded In The Rock. There`s A New Observation Deck, This Waterfall Is Great For Children Or Adults That Cannot Walk Long Distance With Bench Sitting Along The Way.
This Area Was Once A Mica Mine, And You Will Find Reminisce Of The Stone Wheels Used Grind The Mica Out Of The Stone.
Parking Is Limited, An Easy One-Mile Round-Trip Hike.
