Torii Gate. Shrine Standing In Downtown Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan. Located In The Heart Of Shinjuku, The Shrine Has Been Enshrined As The Guardian Deity Of Shinjuku Since The Establishment Of Naito Shinjuku In The Edo Period (1603-1868). The Shrine Is Also The Site Where Various Theatrical Troupes Hold Regular Events. The History Of The Shrine's Founding Is Unknown, But It Was In Existence As Early As 1590, When Ieyasu Tokugawa Entered Edo (Present-Day Tokyo), And Is Said To Have Been Invoked From Yoshino Mountain In Yamato Province. Later, When Naito Shinjuku Was Established In This Area, The Shrine Was Dedicated As The Guardian Of The Area.
