Traditional musical instruments at the Historical Museum in Batonis Tsikhe Fortress, Telavi city, Georgia. Telavi city was the capital of the Kakheti kingdom in the first quarter of the 11th century. The city center is represented by the architectural complex of the Telavi Palace, called the Batonis Tsikhe, or Fortress of the Lord, in which in the XVII-XVIII centuries there was a residence of the kings of Kakheti, including King Irakli II. The museum complex includes The Palace of the Tsar of Kakhs, the churches of the royal court, the remains of the building of the philosophical and theological school, the royal bath, a tunnel and unique gates located on the eastern and western sides. The museum houses memorial items of Tsar Irakli II, numismatic material, a sarcophagus of the early feudal era, chain mail, a collection of copper household utensils of the 17th-19th centuries, military weapons, and a collection of Khevsurian clothes.
