Tumalo Creek Promontory. This 1000-Foot High Basalt Outcropping Rises Over The Lush Tumalo Creek Valley Once Covered By A Mature Stand Of Lodgepole Pine Trees. On July 25Th, 1979, The Bridge Creek Fire Devastated Nearly The Entire Valley, A Three-Mile Stretch From Tumalo Falls At The West End To Skyliner Road At The East End. Since Then, Extensive Reforestation Has Taken Hold, And The 30-Year Growth Has Now Rendered A New Pine Forest Of 20 Foot Stands All Throughout The Rugged Canyon Terrain.
