The Fill Material Came From Dirt Excavated During The Building Of The World Trade Center, As Well As Garbage, Dirt And Debris. Portions Of The Complex, Especially The Winter Garden, Were Severely Damaged In The September 11, 2001 Terrorist Attacks, But Have Since Been Reopened After Significant Repairs.
